My sister has been type 1 diabetic for forty years. She got a pump about fifteen years ago, and it appeared to change her into a whole different person. She was so much more cheerful and upbeat after she got her pump. I mentioned this to my mother one time, and my mother, very sensibly, said, well, if you had been feeling unwell for years and suddenly felt good again, you'd be cheerful, too.
