Caveat- I am not an author.}:P Nor do I really know much about agents, publishers, etc.

But..reading some of the comments on this blog (•Does the agent threaten former clients with legal action for describing the agency’s “assisted self-publishing initiative” as digital publishing? (Read this one and draw your own conclusions.)
) by one of the people mentioned in it, in particular, come across as petty, malicious, condescending and downright rude.

If I were an author looking for an agent, and I came across statements by agents like that, despite the person who wrote the blog's assurances that that particular agent is outstanding, I would be less inclined to want to deal with them after reading what they wrote.

Am I misunderstanding their meaning? Perhaps. Could they have been a little more tactful? Of course. Misunderstanding what someone's intent is behind what they say on the Internet is rampant, but it does not mean we need to respond with rudeness and condescension.

To do so makes the respondent look a lot less professional to a bystander such as me.
