Actually, yes on both levels :-) I thought about it, and I considered a "trigger warning."

I've only had one person say they were disturbed by the image.

Heh. Had you included a "trigger warning" I would undoubtedly have accused you of being a Bad Man. :)

I wondered, because I try to avoid talking too much about firearms, because some of my acquaintance are bothered by them. (Me, I consider myself adequately equipped--if only barely--for the imminent zombie apocalypse.)

That, and I cannot resist sharing a pun once it occurs to me, no matter how poor the potential taste of the thing.

I've got nothing against guns, personally. I was actually in the NRA for a while, which would probably blow certain people's minds. I need to talk to a few friends and see about going to a range this year to do some research for the book in progress.

That said, I *do* have problems with some of our (in the U.S.) attitudes toward guns. But that would probably be a whole other blog post, and I don't know that I want to stir up that particular beehive right now.

I maintain my NRA membership, but it gets more difficult every year. I agree with the basic position, but the way they mobilize their membership...

I mean, I get that they're a single-issue organization, but that shouldn't mean you get in bed with every spittle-flinging douchebag* who happens to agree with you on your single issue.

And yeah, I agree about picking one's beehives, and I've probably already said too much. :)

*I understand that "spittle-flinging douchebag" is a technical term from a field outside my expertise. I apologize if I am using it incorrectly.
