I got older today. Which doesn’t really distinguish today from any other day, but today is when we celebrate it with cake and presents and jokes about the gray in my beard.
What I want today is for you to share something awesome. It could be a cool fact about the universe, the best book you read last year, something great that happened to you or your friends, or–if you happen to be a LEGO executive–a contract for your new goblin- and princess-themed sets based on my books!
The Challenge: I would love to see 365 Comments of Awesomeness, one for every day of the coming year. Which may seem like a lot, but I HAVE FAITH IN YOU ALL!!!

Also, it's finally spring here, and the raspberries are sprouting. And Inanna brought her first bird of the season indoors, but that counts as good because it was already dead.

It's finally sunny after a week of rain, and last week I got to see Vienna Teng play in an intimate gig in AA. She was amazing from beginning to end.

Thoroughly awesome: the hexaflexamexagon (cool? hexaflexagon. Cooler? making one out of tortilla and turning it into a burrito), or indeed any video by Vi Hart. Related: the mathematically correct breakfast (how to slice a bagel into two linked halves; there's also a trefoil knot version).

My nice tidbit is that at the age of 51 I am finally reading Discworld and really enjoying it.
