Happy Friday, all! Have some cool stuff!

• Finally, tonight I’ll be running my son’s very first D&D game. Behold, his character and brand new dice! (I’m jealous. His dice are SO MUCH COOLER than my first dice, which were pale blue, and I had to use a white crayon to fill in the numbers.)

Ah!! Those were my first dice, too! :)

I wish I still had mine. For historical value, if nothing else. (They were so badly chipped and beat up, I wouldn't trust them to roll randomly anymore.)

Now I'll have to go look and see whether I do have them stuffed in with all my later and cooler dice. Thanks for mentioning this so I got to take a trip down memory lane!

I still have my original dice; they came with the Basic D&D box set, and also included their own crayon.

I had to re-crayon them every couple of sessions until I stumbled on the idea of sealing them with my mom's clear nail polish. (Also, I'd use different color crayons on different dice; that's how I knew which d10 was the tens digit and which was the ones.)

And now I'm having a geek fit. Thanks *so* much, Mr. H.
